We are a Bournemouth based Youth Football Club. We cater for boys and girls, aged U6 to U16
The first squad included Manager Mr John Coutts, Trainers Colin Towler & Paul Launder and Players Neil Wyeth, Andrew Cuddy, Robert Kirk, Steve Bartlett & Anthony Coombes.
On the 23 September 1977 John Kirk was elected as our first chairman and the following day Greenfields played their first match against 1st Bournemouth Cubs.
This was soon followed by our first competitive match against Broadpark on the 26th February 1978 in the Braytown League Cup.
Greenfields Youth F.C. was Founded in March 1977 from the ashes of Sunningdale Boys Club by Mrs Iris Towler, Mr Mike Towler & Mr Alf Harrod.
We are a family friendly club within an environment of high & improving standards of football. At ages 10 and above we are very competitive. However, we always emphasise the overriding importance of player enjoyment, & fairness. Loyalty to managers & players is also high on our agenda.
In our history we have had numerous players who have moved on to professional clubs including Southampton & Chelsea in recent years. Our most famous 'old boy' is Jamie Redknapp. This season, one of our recent ex players, Ben Cull (Southampton), represented England U16. This was a hugely proud moment for the club.
This emphasises the quality of the coaching which all players receive, not just those who move on to academies. Our two senior coaches also have roles within the AFC Bournemouth youth coaching set up.
We are affilliated to the Hampshire FA and our teams play in the Bournemouth Youth Football League (BYFL) and the Bournemouth & Hampshire Cup competitions.
We provide :
Regular games, usually once a week on a Sunday morning as part of the BYFL.
Coaching once a week by FA qualified & CRB checked coaches.
Entry into tournaments out of season.
Paying for or contributing to the costs of continued coaching staff improvement through courses etc.
With the help of donations & sponsorship, we provide equipment & kit.
We ask :
Parents to support managers who give their time freely to help players improve & enjoy the game.
To support the club generally & from the touchline whilst paying particular attention the FA Respect Code of Conduct.
